| DESCRIPTION |
| 1957 Volkswagen Beetle Orignally registered from ‘57 - ’62 and not again until post restoration, which was completed in 1998. The body was taken off the pan for restoration; and both body and pan are rust free. Paint is Glazurit or Sikkens, can’t remember which, but is a top quality paint job. The paint color is a factory baby blue. Electrical system was converted to 12 volt. 1967 swing axle transmission was installed. Dual oil pressure relief case, dual port 1600 cc. engine. 34 pic 3 carburetor in a single carb. Adjustable front end is lowered to a mild stock California look. Body has original front and rear H aprons. Original W deck lid. Original steering wheel, sun visor, mirrors (rear view and drivers side), shifter, radio, and all dash knobs and trim. A JVC CD player was installed in the glove box, with Polk front speakers and subwoofer mounted behind the rear seat. Y5 original stock wheels with all clips and stock baby moon hubcaps. NOS rubber mats. Reproduction seat covers and headliner. Headliner is not yet installed. I have yet to find door panels for this car, and carpet trim is not in place. Local VW club claims it’s the cleanest original ’57 they’ve ever seen. The car has been garaged since being restored and only driven to and from the mechanic shop and around the block occasionally. The mechanic did unfortunately dent the hood, causing the paint to flake in a few spots, and put a small ding in the front fender. | |
