| DESCRIPTION |
| you are looking at a factory five cobra kit.this kit was bougth with the following factory five options, front tubular lower control arms, upper and lower rear tubular rear control arms, heater, windshield wipers, visors and side wings, gauge set, front brake vent screens, powder coated roll bar in a crome like finish (silver). the drive train is a new crate 351 cu in. svo 385 h.p. 377 ft. pounds of torque. the bell housing was a alu one with a heavy duty mustang svo clucth. the tranny is a new 5 speed tremec 3550. the rear end is the donor car 8.8 mustang that was sent out a rebuit. i had a set of 3.73 gears installed.when they did the job they found that the shafts were bad so they were replaced along with all bearing and seals and a heavy duty differential cover. also installed was a new gas tank, msd ignition, flaming river manual steering rack with offset bushings, a 770 cfm holley carb, 2 coil overs on rear end, new 3 core radiatore, ss svo shorty headers, adjustable clutch quadrant, tri-ax shifter, 2 blisten horiztal shocks, auto-meter shift ligth the car was built with the idear that i was going to do it once and also that i would be able to drive her anywhere anytime without worry.i also spent a lot of extra time cleaning and painting sub assemblys. such as all metal parts includeing the frame ,rear end ,pedal box, etc. are in semi-gloss black for easy touch up if needed also it prevents rust and looks better when at shows...this thought was also applied to the under side of the fiberglass body. it was coated with a expoy primer for two reasons, one seal the fiberglass from moisture and to enhance the looks for shows.all this work has paid off as i have won 3 times, but any time i take her out she all ways creates stares, horn blowing, picture taking that includes on the highway.some other items that were added to the build are back up ligths, third brake ligth, the seats for more comforth and safety. she is easy on gas when new and not broken in @ 60 mph she gave me 20 mpg but if needed she is very fast!!! the last time i took her out and checked the mileage it was around 7000 miles. the paint job is the best grade grade of ppg. and the body is straigth. no wavey on this car!! the brakes are standard discs up front and drums out back, of cause that means all the parts were parts house new. i have new master cly but have not installed. you may be asking why i am selling her after all this time and work belive me its not because i want to . i have hurt my back and can no longer work on her. things wrong with her the parking ligths in front are not working, the roll bar leading edge is showing signs of wear like stone chips on the hood of a regular car,the shifter (crome) is starting to peel. and lastly 2nd gear is grinding sometimes, i pulled it out at around 4000 miles and brougth to a authouized repair shop because in talking with tremec they admitted they had 2nd gear sicores problems!! the shop was suppose to fix it but the promble is still here . when i took it out i replaced the clucth with a king cobra unit, a steel lakewood bellhousing and had the flywheel ground to remove high spots. well there you have it if you started to build a car to met the above specs you would be easyily around 50,000.00 i had her appaised and insursed for 45,000.00 thank you for looking and if you have any questions i will try to answer them. | |
