| This Porsche is in outstanding shape. I did my best to get an idea of its pedigree when I bought it from the dealer. Each owner (including me) lives in San Luis Obispo California and it has been maintained by a top notch independent mechanic with over 30 years experience working exclusively on Porsches. My mechanic loves this car and my discussions with him have reinforced my instincts which told me I bought a special and well cared for vehicle. Each owner including me has taken pains to keep this vehicle in top shape. As the mechanic has told me, these cars are meant to be driven, maintained, and driven some more. It is a race car. The lowered stance and wide wheels make the car look better than its stock appearance. It has a 6 cylinder, 3.2 liter motor. There were a total of 36,359 Carrera Coupe’s made between 1984 and 1989. Some have coined this era of Porsches as maytags because of their outstanding reliability. It has a maximum speed of 152 mph and has a five speed manual transmission. A power sunroof and power windows combined make traveling up and down the California coast a pleasure. Cosmetically the car is in fine shape for its age. It is somewhere between good and excellent shape. Anyone who sees it remarks on how great it looks and is surprised to hear it is a 1986. A recent maintenance history is as follows: Professionally maintained in San Luis Obispo: clutch kit, rebuilt alternator, modified muffler installation, replaced both seat switches replaced torsion bars, installed voltage relays with new turn signal switch, freshly cleaned, lubed, reassembled starter, brand new Toro tires on front wheels, Aftermarket Upgrades: - performance chip, - lowered suspension, - short shift kit, - tinted windows, - European headlamps, - new carpets installed under hood and in cab, - rear deck carpet, - new weather-stripping, - 8 inch wide wheels rear, - 7 inch wide wheels front, - new turn signal switch, - new voltage relays installed on left front fender to accommodate European headlamp amps - rock guards in front of rear wheel wells, - Momo shift knob, - New Toro tires on front wheels, - New Battery, - modified muffler, – Clean carfax report, – Has never been in an accident | |
