| 1965 CONTEMPORARY COBRA, This beautiful factory-built (1987) Cobra by Contemporary Classic Motor Cars of New York is in mint condition. The car is housed indoors, driven only occasionally, and has about 2,000 miles on the odometer - - it is practically brand new! Everything works on this baby...no surprises here. BODY: The body is in excellent condition, black with metallic grey striping and a base coat finish. The interior is grey leather and grey carpet (both the leather and carpets could stand to be re-dyed to look new; there are no rips or tears, just faded with age). UNDER THE HOOD: The motor was professionally built recently by Power Heads in Fullerton, California. Started with a 351 Cleveland Block stroked to 380 c.i.; 2V Aussie cylinder heads with competition porting; SS valves; bronze guides; screw in studs; and roller rockers. Also, special Comp Cams springs and hydraulic roller lifters. The compression ratio is 9.90 to1. Runs beautifully on pump gas. The motor was dyno-ed and made 478 HP at 5700 RPM with441 ft. lbs of torque. Ignition MSD 6 Al.SUSPENSION: Jag torsion bar front suspension and Jag rear Coil over adjustable Aldan Shocks. Rack and pinion steering, real Halibrand knock off wheels with four new BF Goodrich tires. (4) speed top loader transmission, (4) wheel disc brakes, Jag posi rear 3.54:1. The Cobra is registered in Maryland as a 1965 Ford Convertible and is emission exempt. Im a fanatic car collector, so this machine has been well taken care of - - it is in no less than tip-top condition. For the horsepower, great looks, performance and the rumble it makes, nothing comes close! | |
