| 1969 Mercedes Benz 280SL Roadster This car was purchased by the original owner in Los Angeles and owned by her for 33 years. She retired in Oakland, CA where the car stayed until I purchased it in November of 2004. She loved this car so much that even after she lost her license 10 years prior to her death, she kept the car in her garage and regularly had the dealer pick it up for service. The second owner lives in Oakland and owned it for the two year period prior to my purchase. Has hard top and soft top and both are in very good condition. The engine is an inline 6 cylinder, 2.8 liter, 180 HP, and runs great. The first thing I did was to take the car to Park Place Motors in Dallas for a multi point inspection. This car has no rust anywhere and has never been wrecked. Over the past 18 months I have made the following improvements: New steering and tie rod kit, new rubber vent controls, new dash lights and control. New shocks, springs, all rubber mounts replaced, bushings and lube service. New muffler, replaced both rear tail lamp assemblies (new) 4 new tires, ALL new belts and hoses including new fuel lines, radiator, engine and power steering hoses, fuel injection hoses, etc. New valve cover gasket, oil pan gasket, transmission gasket and all seals. New windshield, new rubber and chrome trim around windshield. 4 new seat buns, new chrome trim running along the bottom of car. Recored radiator, new rubber engine mounts. Added an electronic ignition system to bypass points, rotor, distributor. New spark plug connectors and wires. Internal transmission pump and gaskets replaced, shifts like new. All internal engine gaskets replaced and the brake calibers have been rebuilt. | |
