Description: I am the second owner. First owner bought this motorcycle in 1955 from the Harley Davidson dealer in Louisville, KY. It was bought as a dirt-hill climber, no headlight or taillight. It had a speedy shifter (foot shift) with a jockey-top lid which is for a hand shift motorcycle. He used it for dirt hill climbing until he got too old to do this and then put headlight and taillight on it to drive to the hill climbing events.
I bought the motorcycle in 1976. I have all the original parts except the front and back fenders. I had the motor rebuilt in 1976 by Harley Davidson of Louisville. It has 20 over pistons, 11:1 compression with solid lifters. And runs like a "scalded dog". The new 80 inchers can't keep up with me. I have the original pipes minus the head pipe and crossover pipe. It has an 8 inch over front-end, new tires and a 12-volt system, but I have the original 6-volt system. The bike is completely chromed-out and had new exhaust pipes with heat-resistant coating inside. For any more information call 812-347-3313. | |
