| Meet the ?Black Orchid? ? A modified 1959 Buick Electra 225 Convertible ? 1 of 5493 produced. Body Modifications include: Nosed, and decked. Shaved door handles. Key locks filled with 1959 silver quarters. Autoloc keyless entry. Hagan third light molded into deck lid. Flush side running lights, 20? of purple neon mounted on frame. Blue LED lights inside front fenders to reflect on front wheels. Flush power antenna in rear fender.Mechanical Modifications include: Buick 401 ?nailhead? engine, blueprinted, bored .030 over, balanced, port matched. Factory dual quad manifold HPC coated with 500cfm Carter performance carbs topped with chromed K and N filters. Polished, finned Offenhauser valve covers, custom Griffin aluminum radiator backed w/ Flex-a-Lite dual electric cooling fans. Factory headers and water crossover HPC coated. Cool-Flex chromed radiator hose. All accessory brackets chromed. Rebuilt twin turbine transmission. Air-Ride Technologies suspension installed front and rear w/ gauges and controls mounted in console. Front brakes Wilwood four piston caliper disc, rear brakes finned aluminum cast iron brake drums powder coated. Powermaster 100amp single wire polished aluminum alternator, Pertonix electronic distributor conversion w/ chromed high voltage Pertronix coil. Taylor purple high output plug wires, custom fit. Interior Modifications include: 1984 Eldorado front and rear seats(front six way power buckets) and 1991 Cadillac console all modified to suit. Budnik ?Stringer? steering wheel mounted on GM tilt column. VDO millennium gauges mounted in original dash openings (two hooded pods added to accommodate additional gauges). Dakota digital shift indicator mounted in center of former ?Redliner? speedometer, Right and left of shift indicator finished with pearl flames on dark pearl background. Console houses all switches and controls ?power seats, windows, air ride, lights, wipers, and vintage air. Door panels, front and rear seats upholstered in 2000 Cadillac Light Wheat Leather with Oyster White carpeting. The Buick hood emblem sewn into front and rear seat backs. Brass plate attached to glove box engraved ?Electra 225? in Park Avenue font. Trunk has leather covered panels, encloses two compressors, battery, hidden power antenna, CD player and amp. Hood emblem mounted on facing panel illuminated by four lights. Special New Product Features: GM S-10 front spindles. Wheels-Billet Specialties custom GT47 18x8 polished aluminum. Tires-Michelin Sport Pilot ?Z?rated; front 245/40ZR 18/8. Paint ? Sikkens custom multi-pearl base w/ orchid ghost flames. Dynomax turbo flo mufflers, Z-28 exhaust extensions are stainless steel. Panasonic 6 speaker sound system w/ 6 CD changer, amp and remote. Top-Electron hartz tan canvas. This is a California car. 3500 miles since restoration. | |
