DESCRIPTION
Here is an exceptionally sharp 1965 Mustang Convertible that I am selling for a good friend of mine. It was built in Dearborn, Michigan, sold new in District 25 which was Richmond, Virginia area and has spent its' entire life in the sunny state of Virginia and later, sunny and dry Arizona and it shows! The body is virtually 100% rust free and it has been in the hands of possibly only 3 elderly owners its' entire life so it hasn't been abused or molested in any way! The original owner sold it after about 10 years to a gentleman in the Air Force and he subsequently moved to Phoenix and has owned it and enjoyed it for almost 34 years! Several years ago he started doing some restoration to his baby but after retiring to a smaller home, he decided to let his pride and joy go to a new home. His loss is your gain! The list of options as it is currently equipped is as follows: -289 Cu In V8 2 BBL Engine - 'C' Code -C-4 Dual Range Automatic Transmission -Bucket Seats -Power Top - WW Radial Tires -Wire Wheel Covers -AM FM Cassette Radio The Vehicle Certification Data Tag reads as follows: Body 76A Color 7 Trim 26 Date 29M DSO 25 Axle 6 Trans 5 The body on this little Mustang is very sharp and is as rock solid and rust free as you would expect a southern and Arizona car to be! There are no repairs or patches of any kind and no attempts to hide or cover anything up. All the sheet metal appears to be original to this car and other than the tail light panel and right quarter, there is no evidence of any prior accident history. In the interest of full disclosure, I will mention that the tail light panel and an area on the right rear quarter panel, is a little wavy, it needs a small dent repair at the right rear wheel opening and there is one tiny rust spot in the lower corner of the left rear wheel well. Otherwise, the body is super straight and all the gaps are even and factory original and it really is a beautiful, southwest body! The paint job was done several years ago and while it was not a high end paint job and has a few imperfections, it still looks smooth and shiny and is a nice, driver quality finish and looks great cruising down the street! It is a color change to a factory original color of Rangoon Red and it looks great as my photos show! This is definitely a classic Mustang that has been well cared for and can be driven and enjoyed just as it is! The chrome is, for the most part, new, although there are a few pieces that are decent, original. Other than a small stone chip on the windshield, the glass is all in good condition and the White convertible top is only a few weeks old and looks great! The Black top boot is new! The interior had been largely redone a few years ago and still looks excellent! It was done in it's original Black color. The door panels and armrests are excellent and the carpets and dash pad are like new. The dash pad is near perfect and the gauges are clean and bright. All the gauges appear to work as they should as well as the wipers, blower motor. The aftermarket AM FM Cassette radio was installed in the original opening so the dash is not cut and it plays great! This is an exceptionally sharp, driver quality interior! Mechanically, this little Mustang appears to be in very good condition. The engine was reported to have been rebuilt just a few years ago and it runs strong and smooth. The transmission shifts as it should and the exhaust is quiet. The tires are like new and the brakes stop as they should. It is in good general condition and is easily one of the nicest running and driving Mustangs or Collector cars that I have driven! The odometer shows 25,499 which is actually 125,499 miles. The engine compartment is clean and very respectable. Mustangs are some of the fastest appreciating and most desirable and sought after collector cars in the market tod
