| THIS IS A TRULY UNIQUE COLLECTORS MOTORCYCLE WITH A LETTER FROM HARLEY-DAVIDSON TO PROVE IT!! ******JUST REDUCED****** THIS WAS THE VERY LAST CUSTOM PAINTED BIKE TO BE BUILT BY HARLEY DAVIDSON. IT WAS ACTUALLY COMMISSIONED BY WILLIE G. DAVIDSON. HE SIGNED THE BIKE INSIDE THE TOUR PAK. BUILT IN 1988, IT HAS BEEN LOVINGLY MAINTAINED BY THE ONE PREVIOUS OWNER, WHO ACTUALLY WAS A HARLEY MECHANIC AND EMPLOYED BY THE COMPANY. I PURCHASED IT FROM HIM 30 MONTHS AGO, AND HAVE DONE THE FOLLOW IN THE LAST FEW MONTHS: SENT THE MOTOR BACK TO THE HARLEY FACTORY AND HAD IT TOTALLY REMANUFACTURED. (SAME ENGINE NUMBER TO MAINTAN ITS CLASSIC VALUE) REPLACED THE CLUTCH REPLACED THE BATTERY REPLACED THE FRONT AIR SUSPENSION REPLACED ALL OIL LINES HAD THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM CHECKED AND TWEAKED HAD A FULL DIAGNOSTIC INSPECTION ANYTHING REQUIRING REPAIR WAS UNDERTAKEN RE-WIRED LIGHT SYSTEM NEW HIGH PERFORMANCE MUFFLER NEW REAR TIRE RE-PACKED REAR WHEEL BEARINGS I RIDE THE BIKE REGULARLY, AND IT RUNS LIKE A DREAM. IT HAS 51,300 MILES ON THE ODOMETER, BUT MOST OF THESE WERE DRIVEN BEFORE THE ENGINE WAS REMANUFACTURED. IT HAS THE ORIGINAL FM/AM RADIO/CASSETTE PLAYER WITH THE 4 SPEAKER SYSTEM. I DISCONNECTED THE BACK SPEAKERS BECAUSE THEY HAD AN INTERMITTENT BUZZ. THE CUSTOM PAINT CAN BEST BE DESCRIBED AS BURNT METALLIC ORANGE OVER IVORY. WITH LOTS OF PIN STRIPING. THIS IS A TRULY AMAZING COLOR, AND WHEN THE SUN SHINES, IT GLOWS HOW ONLY HARLEY KNOWS HOW TO MAKE IT GLOW! OBVIOUSLY, A BIKE THIS OLD HAS SOME MINOR BLEMISHES FROM ROAD DEBRIS, BUT ITS MINIMAL AND CAN ONLY BE SEEN ON VERY CLOSE INSPECTION. HARLEYS ARCHIVE DEPARTMENT RECENTLY RESEARCHED MY BIKE AND I HAVE A LETTER FROM THEM CONFIRMING THAT THIS IS A TRULY UNIQUE MOTORCYCLE. THE VALUE OF THE BIKE IS AN UNKNOWN QUANTITY. A BIKE WITHOUT THE HISTORY, THE SIGNITURE, BEING THE LAST CUSTOM ETC. IT WOULD NORMALLY SELL FOR APPROX. $10K. I HAVE HAD OFFERS IN THE PAST (BEFORE I DECIDED TO SELL) THAT WERE SOMETIMES A LITTLE CRAZY. BUT AS ONE AUCTIONEER TOLD ME A FEW WEEKS AGO, IF I WAIT FOR THE RIGHT AUCTION, THEY WOULD START THE BIDDING AT $20K AND WOULD HOPE TO GET DOUBLE.
